About us

Initially, the club was just going to be a couple of friends working on a layout in a shed down the bottom of a garden. However, the more we spoke about it and told others about it, the more they wanted to get involved. We soon realised that the shed wasn’t going to be big enough for all of us, so we needed to do this properly!

So, on the 18th June 2024 the NG34 Model Railway Society officially formed down the local pub!

We realised that the club isn’t just going to be about railway modelling, it’s also about being social with friends. We understand that living in rural Lincolnshire near Sleaford and the surrounding District can be quite isolating and strain on mental health, so we found a location that would hopefully be accessible to all who want to come.

We also want to be as inclusive as we possibly can; it doesn’t matter to us if you’ve been building model railways for years (either by yourself or in a club), or if you’re brand new to the hobby – as long as you want to get involved then that’s all we care about. The founding members have a wealth of knowledge surrounding the hobby, be it track laying, control systems, or landscape modelling; if you have a question then we want you to come and ask.
